유례없이 빠른 사회변화를 겪은 우리사회에서는 세대 간의 사회문화적 배경의 차이가 크고, 서로 간의 이해의 정도가 낮아 세대 갈등 현상이 나타나고 있다. 점차 디지털 사회로의 전환은 세대 교류의 기회를 온라인으로도 넓힐 필요성을 제기한다. 이에, 본 연구는 세대 교류 모바일 어플리케이션(이하 앱)을 개발하고자 하는 사전 연구로, 청년 세대와 노년 세대의 상호간의 교류에 대한 인식과 태도, 세대 교류 앱에 대한 인식에 대하여 탐색해보았다. 연구 결과, 청년 세대보다 노년 세대에서 세대 교류에 대한 관심과 앱 사용 의향이 유의미하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 두 세대 모두 가족관계나 건강 관련 주제로 대화할 때 서로 대화가 잘 통한다고 하였으며, 정치 주제 대화가 가장 잘 통하지 않는다고 하였다. 세대교류 앱의 예상 사용 목적은 두 집단 모두 정보 공유 및 사회적 소통인 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과 등을 바탕으로 세대 교류 앱 개발에 대하여 논의하였다.

Korea has undergone rapid social change, and there is a large difference in socio-cultural background between generations. Thus, a low level of understanding between generations results in generational conflict. The transition to a digital society raises the need to expand opportunities for generational exchange online as well. Therefore, in this study, as a preliminary study to develop a generational exchange mobile application (hereinafter, an app), we explored the perception and attitude of mutual exchange between the young and older generations and the perception of a generational exchange app. To this end, an online survey was conducted targeting an online panel of a professional research company, and the data was analyzed by conducting descriptive statistics and t-tests. The results showed that interest in generational exchange and the intention to use an app were significantly higher in the older generation than in the younger generation. Both generations reported that they communicated well when talking about family relations or health-related topics and that conversations on political topics were the least common. It was commonly found that the expected purpose of using the generational exchange app was information sharing and social communication for both groups. These results were discussed in relation to developing a generational exchange app.
