속성의제 분석을 통한 뉴스 리터러시 교육 －‘조유나 양 실종’ 사건 인터넷 신문 보도를 중심으로－

본고는 디지털 시대 뉴미디어 생태계의 변화에 발맞추어 커뮤니케이션 이론의 ‘속성의제’ 개념을 실제 뉴스 분석에 적용함으로써 국어교육에서의 비판적이고 실천적인 뉴스 리터러시 교육을 논의한 연구이다. 인터넷 신문 사회 뉴스 ‘조유나 양 실종’을 키워드로 하여 뉴스 기사의 ‘속성의제’ 구성과 댓글을 통한 수용자들의 속성 전이 양상을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 뉴스 기사의 속성 흐름은 개인-사회-정치 순으로 점화되었다. 뉴스 기사에 나타난 개인 속성의 합은 56.4%, 사회 속성이 23.1%, 정치 속성이 20.5%로 나타났다. 수용자들의 반응은 댓글을 통해 확인하였으며, 뉴스의 속성이 수용자들에게 전이된 양상을 보였으나, 속성의 흐름뿐만 아니라 다른 속성에 대한 반응 역시 함께 나타남을 확인하였다. 다만 댓글에 나타난 개인의 속성의 합은 64.8%, 사회 속성 합은 11.3%, 정치 속성 합은 24.0%로, 뉴스 기사에 비해 사회 속성에 대한 반응이 적었다. 이는 사회적 담론 형성과 사회 문제 현안에 대한 실천적 뉴스 리터러시가 이루어지는 경우가 미미했음을 보여준다. 이 연구는 학습자의 실제적인 삶과 맞닿아 있는 뉴스를 분석함으로써 국어교육적 관점에서 뉴스 리터러시 교육에 대한 방향을 제시하였다는 데 의의가 있다.

This paper is a study that discusses critical and practical news literacy education in Korean language education by applying the ‘fast agenda’ concept of communication theory to actual news analysis in line with changes in the new media ecosystem in the digital age. With Internet newspaper social news ‘Cho Yu-na missing’ as a keyword, the ‘property agenda’ composition of news articles and the pattern of transfer of attributes of audiences through comments were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the flow of attributes of news articles was ignited in the order of personal-society-political. The sum of personal attributes in news articles was 56.4%, social attributes 23.1%, and political attributes 20.5%. The reaction of the audience was confirmed through comments, and although the properties of the news showed an aspect of being transferred to the audience, it was confirmed that not only the flow of properties but also the reactions to other properties appeared together. However, the sum of personal attributes in comments was 64.8%, the sum of social attributes was 11.3%, and the sum of political attributes was 24.0%. This shows that the formation of social discourse and practical news literacy on pending social issues were insignificant. This study is significant in suggesting a direction for news literacy education from the perspective of Korean language education by analyzing news that is in contact with learners' actual lives.
