본 연구에서는 중국의 언어학적 번역연구의 흐름을 통시적으로 분석하여 언어학적 접근 방식의 학술적인 가치를 재조명하고자 한다. 이를 위해 먼저 언어학적 번역연구의 분류틀을 제시하고 이에 따라 『中国翻译』, 『上海翻译』, 『中国科技翻译』 3개 학술지의 창간호부터 2023년 2월까지 게재된 논문을 대상으로 언어학적 번역연구 관련 논문을 모두 추출한다. 최종 선별된 논문을 대상으로 게재량 추이 분석, 키워드 분석, 피인용 분석을 진행한다. 1) 게재량 추이 분석은 4년 간격으로 하되, 연도별로 전체 논문과 소분류별 논문 게재량을 정리한 후 게재량의 변화 추이를 살핀다. 2) CiteSpace의 키워드 분석 기능을 활용하여 분류별로 출현빈도가 높은 키워드와 키워드 공현 현황을 파악한다. 3) 마지막으로 CNKI에서 제공한 피인용 정보를 활용해서 언어학적 번역연구에서 가장 많이 인용된 20편의 논문을 추린 후, 이들 논문의 내용을 분석한다. 본 연구는 실제 연구 문헌을 바탕으로 양적분석을 통해 중국의 언어학적 번역연구 흐름을 통시적으로 정리했다는 데 의미가 있다.

Hyerim Kim (2023). Linguistic translation studies in China as examined from a diachronic perspective. The purpose of this study is to re-examine the academic value of a linguistic approach through a diachronic analysis of trends in China’s linguistic translation studies. To this end, the study first presents the classification frame of linguistic translation studies, then compiles existing studies on linguistic translation studies among those published in three Chinese journals, i.e. Chinese Translators Journal, Shanghai Journal of Translators, and Chinese Science & Technology Translators Journal, from their first issues up to February 2023. It then conducts a trend analysis of publication volume, keyword analysis, and citation analysis of the finally-selected papers: i) trends in publication volume is analyzed every four years to examine changes in the publication volume after adding up the total number of papers by year and the publication volume by sub-classification; ii) using the keyword analysis function of CiteSpace, keywords and co-occurrence of keywords that frequently appear by classification are identified; and iii) employing citation information provided by China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), a private publisher in China, the 20 most frequently-cited papers on linguistic translation studies are selected for their content analysis. This study is significant for examining trends in China’s linguistic translation studies from a diachronic perspective through the quantitative analysis of actually published research literature.
