중등음악교사들의 다문화 음악교육의 실태 및 인식 조사

본 연구의 목적은 다문화 음악교육에 대한 현직 중등 음악교사의 실태 및 인식을 알아보는 것에 있다. 이를 위해 설문지를 제작하였고, 내용타당도 검증과 예비조사를 거쳐 전국의 중·고등학교 음악교사를 대상으로 조사연구를 진행하였다. 이후 총 102부의 설문지를 통계 처리하여 결과 해석에 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 다문화 음악교육의 실태 조사 결과, 가창, 기악, 창작, 감상 영역에서 교사들은 다른 나라의 배경이나 문화를 소개하는 활동을 주로 진행했다. 활동에 대한 이유와 수업 시 겪는 어려움은 영역별로 응답의 차이가 있었다. 그리고 다문화 음악교육의 인식 조사 결과, 대부분의 음악 교사는 다문화 음악교육이 필요하다고 인식하였다. 또한, 과반수 이상의 음악 교사가 다문화 음악교육에 대한 현장 적합성에 대해서 긍정적으로 인식하였지만, 다양하고 질 높은 교육자료의 확충이 가장 필요한 개선점이라고 생각하였다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로, 본 연구는 결론에서 다음과 같이 논의하며 후속 연구의 필요성을 제언하였다. 첫째. 다양한 주제와 방식의 교사 연수를 늘려 교사 역량을 기를 수 있도록 지원해야 한다. 둘째, 다른 나라 고유의 특징적인 발성이나 창법에 대해 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 자세한 자료와 교과서의 설명이 필요하다. 셋째, 전체 학생으로 대상으로 한 다문화 교육 정책의 필요성과 교과 특성에 맞춘 구체적이고 장기적인 교육적 지원이 필요하다.

초록/요약

The purpose of this study is to unravel the status quo and perception of secondary school music teachers on multicultural music education. This paper presents the results of research conducted on secondary school music teachers across the country. Music teachers commonly introduced musical cultures of foreign countries when carrying activities concerning areas of singing, instrumental music, composition and music appreciation. The reasons for such activities and the difficulties encountered during classes differed in responses for each area. In addition, most teachers were aware of the need for multicultural music education. In fact, more than half of the teachers agreed on providing multicultural music education, yet they felt a stronger need for more variety in high quality education materials. To improve pedagogical competencies, it is crucial to encourage various teaching methods and topics and create textbooks that cover diverse vocalization and singing methods in various countries. It is also important to implement policies that prioritizes a specific, long term multicultural music education to all students.
