안전교육 강화를 위한 종합안전체험관 공간디자인 방향 연구

A Study on the Spatial Design Direction of the Comprehensive Safety Experience Center for the Enhancement of Safety Education

(Background and Purpose) Various disasters and safety accidents in Korea have highlighted the necessity and importance of pre-education and safety education, and various institutions are currently building and operating safety experience centers. The direction of spatial design for the design of a safety experience center is very important because it allows people to learn safety education more effectively by directly experiencing situations similar to actual disasters. Therefore, this study compares and analyzes the status of the currently established comprehensive safety experience center to determine the direction of development and improvement, and proposes a direction for spatial design to strengthen safety education. (Method) First, the importance of a comprehensive safety experience center and safety education was identified through theoretical considerations, and the spaces where knowledge and functional education were emphasized within the safety experience center were categorized. Second, the development status and problems of the safety experience center were identified by comparing and analyzing the current status of the fire department's comprehensive safety experience center. Third, the spatial characteristics of the comprehensive safety experience centers were derived based on theoretical considerations and status surveys. (Results) Unlike the safety experience centers established in the past, the recently established safety experience center was designed to have an experience space in accordance with a safety education program, and there was a space using virtual reality (VR). In addition, specialized safety education was provided considering the regional geographical characteristics and local accidents. However, the recently established safety experience center also seems to need to provide additional educational spaces for hands-on activities and linked education. It is necessary to provide high-quality safety experience content that combines technical safety education by actively utilizing more recent technologies in addition to VR. Through the above analysis, the spatial characteristics for strengthening safety education were summarized as viewing-ability, cutting-edge technology, expertise, and diversity. (Conclusions) Based on the analysis, suggestions for the future direction of spatial design of comprehensive safety experience centers are as follows. It is necessary to increase experience spaces using the latest technologies, introduce smart safety experience centers in line with current trends, provide high-quality safety experience center content that combines technology and safety education, and increase various educational spaces for linked education. In addition, for steady repetitive learning, the revisit rate of safety experience centers should be increased, and seasonally linked programs and various educational spaces should be created along with safety experiences. This study aims to contribute to the spatial design direction of comprehensive safety experience centers that will be established or renovated in the future.

(연구배경 및 목적) 국내에서 일어난 여러 재난과 안전사고들은 이에 대한 사전 교육 및 안전교육에 대한 필요성과 중요성을 보여주고 있으며, 현재 다양한 기관에서 이를 위한 시설인 안전체험관이 건립, 운영되고 있다. 안전체험관은 실제 재난과 흡사한 상황을 직접 체험하여 더욱 더 효과적으로 안전교육을 학습할 수 있도록 하기 때문에 안전체험관 설계에 대한 공간디자인 방향이 매우 중요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 현재 설립된 종합안전체험관의 현황을 비교 분석함으로써 발전 방향 및 개선점을 찾아 안전교육 강화를 위한 공간디자인 방향성을 제안하고자 한다. (연구방법) 첫째, 종합안전체험관과 안전교육의 이론적 고찰을 통해 중요성을 파악하고, 안전체험관 내에서 지식교육과 기능교육이 강조되는 공간을 범주화하였다. 둘째, 과거와 최근 설립된 소방청 종합안전체험관의 현황을 비교 분석하여 안전체험관의 발전 현황과 문제를 파악한다. 셋째, 이론적 고찰과 현황 조사로 도출해 낸 결론을 기반으로 종합안전체험관의 공간 특성을 도출하고, 이를 토대로 향후 디자인 방향을 제안한다. (결과) 연구 결과, 과거 설립된 안전체험관과 달리 최근 설립된 안전체험관은 안전교육 프로그램에 맞춰 체험공간이 설계되어 있었으며, VR을 활용하는 공간이 마련되어 있었다. 또 지역의 지리적 특성과 지역 사고 등을 고려하여 특화된 안전교육을 제공하고 있는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 그러나 최근 설립된 안전체험관 역시 체험활동과 연계교육이 가능한 교육공간이 추가적으로 마련되어야 할 것으로 보이며, VR 이외에도 더 다양한 최신기술을 적극 활용하여 기술 안전교육이 융합된 질 높은 안전체험 콘텐츠를 제공해야 한다. 앞서 분석한 내용을 통해 안전교육 강화를 위한 공간 특성을 관람성, 첨단성, 전문성, 다양성으로 정리하였다. (결론) 분석을 토대로 향후 종합안전체험관 공간디자인 방향성에 대한 제언은 다음과 같다. 최신기술을 활용한 체험공간을 증대하고, 시대적 흐름에 맞춰 스마트 안전체험관을 도입하여 기술과 안전교육의 융합된 질 높은 안전체험관 콘텐츠를 제공해야 하며, 연계 교육이 가능한 다양한 교육공간을 증대해야 한다. 또한 꾸준한 반복 학습을 위해서는 안전체험관의 재방문율이 높아져야 하는데 이를 위해서 안전체험과 더불어 시즌별 연계 프로그램과 이를 수용할 수 있는 다양한 교육공간이 추가로 만들어져야 한다. 본 연구는 향후 설립되거나 리노베이션될 종합안전체험관의 공간디자인 방향에 기여하고자 한다.
