고독사 위험군 유형화 및 영향요인에 관한 탐색적 연구

최근 증가하는 고독사를 예방하기 위해서 이 연구에서는 탐색적 성격으로 고독사 위험군을 유형화하고, 도출된 고독사 위험군 유형의 영향요인을 규명한다. 2022년 10~11월 20~70대 대한민국 국민 1,833명을 대상으로 설문조사한 자료를 활용하여 잠재계층분석, 다항로짓분석을 했다. 사회적 고립도와 가구취약성 총 14문항을 기준으로 고독사 위험군 유형화를 한 잠재계층분석 결과, 조사대상자의 6.4%는 복합·고위험군, 27.6%는 고립도중심·중위험군, 66.1%는 저위험군으로 분류되었다. 위험군별 영향요인을 다항로짓분석한 결과, 40~50대, 남자, 임시 및 일용근로자, 일하지 않음, 낮은 주관적 경제수준과 건강수준, 건강으로 인한 일상생활 제한 있음, 미혼(연인 없음), 기타(별거, 이혼, 사별), 전세, 월세가 복합·고위험군이 가진 특성으로 나타났다. 또한, 저위험군에 비해 고립도중심·중위험군은 40~50대, 낮은 주관적 경제수준과 건강수준, 건강으로 인한 일상생활 제한 있음, 1인가구, 기혼이 아닌 경우가 많았다. 이러한 분석 결과는 고독사 위험군을 사전에 발굴하고, 위험군별 맞춤형으로 지원 서비스를 제공하는 데 활용될 수 있다.

This study aims to classify vulnerable groups at risk of lonely deaths and identify their distinct characteristics to address the recent surge in such cases. Using data from a survey conducted in October-November 2022, involving 1,833 individuals aged between 20 and 70 in South Korea, we conducted a latent class analysis and multinomial logit analysis. The results of the latent class analysis, which categorized the vulnerable groups based on social isolation and household vulnerability, revealed that 6.4% of respondents were classified as high-risk, 27.6% as medium-risk, and 66.1% as low-risk groups for lonely deaths. The multinomial logit analysis results indicated that the higher-risk group consisted primarily of individuals in their 40s and 50s, males, temporary or daily workers, unemployed individuals, those with low subjective economic and health statuses, individuals facing limitations in their daily activities, those without a romantic partner, and individuals living in unstable housing conditions. Furthermore, individuals in their 40s and 50s with low subjective economic and health statuses, limitations in daily activities, single-person households, and unmarried individuals were more likely to be classified as part of the medium-risk group. These findings have important implications for the Korean government, communities, and social service organizations. By targeting and focusing efforts on these specific vulnerable groups, it is possible to enhance prevention measures, early detection, and support systems to address the issue of lonely deaths.
