본 연구는 인터랙티브 아트(Interactive Art)에서 관람자와 상호작용시 작가 의도에 따라 다양한 접근 방법을 제시함이 목적이다. 연구 방법은 제스처(Gesture) 개념과 NUI(Natural User Interface) 기술을 고찰하고 HCI(Human Computer Interaction) 제스쳐 이론을 근거로 최근 인터랙티브 아트 사례를 분석, 유형을 분류하며 특성을 제시한다. 연구결과, 제스처와 NUI 기술 기반의 인터랙티브 아트 유형을 첫째, 제어 제스처 기반 동작인식(물체를 통한 사물을 도구로 이용한 작품, 촉발식 스크린을 이용한 작품) 둘째, 커뮤니케이션 제스처 기반 동작인식(특정 동작 모방을 이용하는 작품, 자연스러운 동작을 이용한 작품), 셋째, 제어 제스처 기반 음성인식(매개체를 통한 음성 출력 작품), 넷째, 커뮤니케이션 제스처 기반 음성인식(추상적 음성을 이용한 작품, 텍스트 음성을 이용한 작품)으로 분류한다. 제어 제스처 유형은 사용된 기기와 입력방식 , 참여 공간에 대한 설계를 통해 다양한 콘텐츠와 재미있는 상호작용 방식으로 작품표현이 가능하다. 커뮤니케이션 제스처 유형은 관람자의 자유로운 동작과 다양한 기기의 사용으로몰입 공간에 대한 작품표현이 가능하다. 이 연구가 관객과 상호작용하는 인터랙티브 아트의 다양한 경험을 설계하는 데 적용될 수있기를 기대한다.

This study present different approaches to interact with viewers in interactive art, based on the artist's intention to create a work. We review gesture concepts and NUI(Natural User Interface) technologies and analyze, categorize, and characterize therecent interactive art cases based on HCI(Human Computer Interaction) Gesture theories. We classify four types of interactive art,based on gesture and NUI technology: control-gestures–based gesture recognition and speech recognition andcommunication-gestures–based motion recognition and speech recognition. The control-gesture type enables the expression ofinteractive artwork in a fun and interactive way by presenting different content through the user device, the input method, and thedesign of the participation space. The communication-gesture type enables the expression of work in an immersive space throughthe free movement of the viewer and the use of various devices. With this classification, the artists hope to create a variety ofinteractive experiences between the viewer and the artwork.
