지속가능발전은 미래 세대에게 더 나은 세상을 제공하는 범지구적 발전 양식으로, 교육을 통해 시작되는 사회변화에 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 연구는 교육부의 교육과정 개정을 반영하여, 지속가능발전 교육을 기반으로 한 디자인 수업이 중학교 3학년 학생들의 창의적 문제 해결 능력에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 서울시 S 중학교 3학년 106명을 선정하여 단일집단으로 연구 대상을 설정하였으며, 문헌적 고찰을 바탕으로 지속가능발전교육의 6차시 연구수업을 제시하였다. 이어서 창의적 문제해결력(CPSPI) 사전·사후 검사를 수집 후 분석하였다. 또한, 수업의 효과성을 검증하기 위하여 수업 결과물, 수업 만족도, 학생인터뷰 내용에 대한 질적 분석을 진행하였다. 분석 결과, 지속가능발전교육을 기반으로 한 디자인 수업은 학생들의 창의적 문제 해결 능력 및 지속가능발전에 대한 인식 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 분석 결과를 통해 학생들이 지속 가능한 발전에 대한 인식과 실천 능력, 그리고 문제 해결 능력에서 긍정적인 변화를 가져왔다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구의 통찰을 기반으로 앞으로의 미술교육 현장에서 지속가능발전교육을 토대로 한 프로그램이 더욱 많이 개발되어 학교 현장에 보급되기를 기대한다.

Sustainable development, a global paradigm for providing a better world for future generations, plays a significant role in societal change that begins with education. This study aimed to examine the impact of design lessons based on sustainable development education (ESD) on the creative problem-solving abilities of third-year middle school students, reflecting the curriculum revision by the Ministry of Education. A total of 106 third-year students from S Middle School in Seoul were selected as a single group for the study. Based on literature review, a six-lesson research course on ESD was proposed. Pre and post-tests of Creative Problem Solving Profile (CPSPI) were collected and analyzed. Furthermore, to verify the effectiveness of the lessons, qualitative analyses were conducted on the class outputs, satisfaction levels, and student interviews. The analysis revealed that design lessons rooted in ESD positively influenced the students' creative problem-solving abilities and enhanced their awareness of sustainable development. These findings confirm that students underwent positive changes in their perceptions, practical abilities regarding sustainable development, and problem-solving skills. Based on the insights from this study, it is hoped that more programs rooted in ESD will be developed and widely disseminated in the field of art education.
