초록/요약
연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 발달장애 성인 형제자매의 돌봄에 대한 인식과 경험을 탐색하고, 형제자매로서 발달장애 형제에게 돌봄을 제공하는데 필요한 구체적인 지원 요구를 파악하는 것이다. 연구방법: 발달장애 성인을 형제자매로 두었으며, 발달장애 형제의 돌봄에 대한 역할을 수행하고 있고 수행할 것으로 기대하는 11명의 형제자매를 대상으로 개별 심층 면담을 실시하고 이에 대한 질적 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과: 본 연구의 결과 4가지 주요 주제와 11개의 하위주제가 도출되었다: (1) 돌봄에 영향을 미치는 요인, (2) 돌봄을 위한 현재의 노력, (3) 돌봄 관련 고충, (4) 돌봄을 위한 지원 요구. 결론: 연구결과를 바탕으로 발달장애 성인의 형제자매가 돌봄인의 역할을 수행할 수 있도록 지원하는 방안을 논의하고, 이와 함께 후속연구를 위한 제언이 제시되었다. 본 연구를 통한 발달장애 성인 형제자매의 돌봄 경험에 대한 심도 깊은 이해는 그들을 위한 지원 서비스 및 정책을 수립하는데 기초자료를 제공할 것으로 기대된다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate perceptions and experiences of siblings of adults with developmental disabilities, and to identify specific support needs for providing caregiving to siblings with developmental disabilities. Method: In-depth individual interviews were conducted with 11 siblings of adults with developmental disabilities, who played a role in caregiving and who are expected to be a caregiver in the future. Results: Resulting from the qualitative analysis, the following 4 themes and 11 sub-themes emerged: (1) Factors affecting caregiving, (2) Current efforts for caregiving, (3) The difficulties for caregiving, (4) Demand for support needs of caregiving. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, a plan to support siblings of adults with developmental disabilities to play the role of caregivers was discussed, and suggestions for follow-up research were presented. An in-depth understanding of the caregiving experiences of siblings through this study is expected to provide basic data for establishing support services and policies for them.
