본 연구는 중등학교 장애학생을 상담하면서 겪은 상담자들의 어려움과 극복방안에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 중등학교 장애학생을 상담한 경험이 있는 상담자 12명을 대상으로 일대일 심층면담을 실시하였고, 수집된 자료는 합의적 질적 분석 방법(CQR)을 통해 분석하였다. 자료 분석의 결과, 상담자가 경험한 장애학생 상담의 어려움 영역은 총 9개의 범주와 26개의 하위범주가 도출되었고, 상담자가 경험한 도움이 되는 극복방안 영역은 총 5개의 범주와 21개의 하위범주를 포함하였다. 종합해보면 중등학교 장애학생 상담을 하는 상담자들은 장애학생 상담에 대한 준비 및 훈련 부족과 직무환경의 특성과 문제로 인해 상담 과정 중 여러 어려움들을 겪게 되지만, 상담 현장에서 주어진 장애학생 상담 실무 경험을 피하지 않고 겪어내면서 극복방안들을 고안해내고 실천하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 다양한 상담현장에서 상담자들이 경험하게 될 장애학생 상담에 관한 다양한 시사점을 제시하였고, 장애학생 상담을 보다 효과적으로 지원할 수 있는 방안에 대해 논의하였다.

This study sought to identify the challenges faced by counselors and the helpful strategies they employ while counseling secondary school students with disabilities. 12 counselors with experience in this context were interviewed, and the collected data was analyzed using the Consensual Qualitative Research (CQR) method. As a result, nine categories and 26 subcategories were derived for the challenges domain, along with five categories and 21 subcategories for the helpful strategies domain. In general, counselors encountered many challenges throughout the counseling process due to a lack of preparation and training for counseling students with disabilities, as well as the characteristics and issues of their work environment. Nevertheless, they developed and implemented strategies to overcome these difficulties by actively engaging in their counseling work with students with disabilities. Counseling implications for students with disabilities, as well as suggestions for improving counseling for students with disabilities are discussed.
