초록/요약
This study examined the mediating effects of emotional and self-concept clarity in the relationship between insecure adult attachment (attachment anxiety, attachment avoidance) and SNS addiction proneness among Chinese university students. A questionnaire survey was administered to university students attending three universities located in Beijing, China, and the data from 358 students were analyzed using a path model. The bootstrapping method and phantom variables were used to test the statistical significance of overall and individual mediating effects, respectively. This study derived the following results. First, insecure adult attachment was found to have a significant correlation with SNS addiction proneness, emotional clarity, and self-concept clarity. Second, emotional clarity was found to partially mediate the relationship between attachment anxiety and SNS addiction proneness, while completely mediated that between attachment avoidance and SNS addiction proneness. Third, self-concept clarity was found to partially mediate the relationship between attachment anxiety and SNS addiction proneness, but did not mediate that between attachment avoidance and SNS addiction proneness. Based on these results, the importance of emotional and self-concept clarity in the prevention and intervention of SNS addiction proneness and the pedagogic implication of adult attachment were discussed
