초록/요약

Direct drive permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) is one of the promising trends in the wind power industry for its reliability and high efficiency. However, as the rating power is larger, some problems are caused by its larger size and shipment. This paper is to compensate for these drawbacks by using Multibrid type and segmented cores. This generator has non-overlapping concentrated windings with fractional q to divide cores. It is comprised of 16 segmented stator cores. The generator features 1.46m stator inner radius, 977mm stator length, 80 pole pairs, 105 rated rpm, and 96.9% efficiency. Design and analysis of the generator are carried out using commercial FEM program ANSYS. Finally, it is compared with Direct-drive concept. The comparative results have shown that Multibrid and segmented concept appears more cost-effective than Direct-drive concept.
